The Mouth Circus

Better eating and communicating for every child

Methodology

The Mouth Circus packages practical proven methods from learning theory, sensory motor therapy and pedagogical theory into an attractive framework for children and therapists. All training activities take place in a circus environment with artists and animals. The children join the circus and practice the acts with the care giver. In this challenging but friendly environment the therapist teaches the child how to better eat, drink and communicate. The therapists can easily integrate their ideas into the system.

The didactic model PRA ensures:

  • systematic presentation (P)
  • varied repeating (R)
  • automation (A)

of the learning goals. These learning goals are all connected to a specific circus performer. The treatment areas contain the learning goals and acompanying circus performers to start training and achieve the treatment goals.
